Yann Cédric Aksel Alley Kouassi is an Engineer in Agricultural Techniques, specialising in the Economics and Management of Agricultural Enterprises, and a graduate of the Higher School of Agronomy at the National Polytechnic Institute Houphouët Boigny (INP-HB) in Yamoussoukro, Côte d'Ivoire. He also obtained a Higher Technical Diploma in Plant Production in 2016 from the Private Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Miadzin/Adzopé.
He began his career as a trainee at the Phytosanitary Inspection Office at the Abidjan Seaport, where he helped supervise phytosanitary treatment operations for consignments of coffee and cocoa destined for export.
During his first year at engineering school, Yann Cédric was a trainee field officer for the programme to support the development of the market garden and cassava sector (PRO2M). During his second year, he completed an internship with the Agboville SCINPA cooperative, contributing to the survey and mapping of cocoa producers' plots in the context of UTZ/RA certification supervised by Cargill.
Before joining the AGRITERRA CI team for a 6-month internship, he worked as a research assistant in the Management, Trade and Applied Economics Laboratory (GCEA) as part of the Equity 2 Action research programme piloted by Agronomes et Vétérinaires Sans Frontières (AVSF) and Commerce Équitable France. Her role was to design and implement a research protocol on the plots selected for the project.
At the end of his 6-month placement, he was recruited for a further 6 months as a Lobby and Advocacy Assistant. After two months, he joined the Agriterra CI team as a Junior Cooperative Advisor on 1st November 2023.
In addition to his professional career, Yann Cédric has been active in various associations and has taken part in a wide range of activities. He has been a member of the INP-HB Environment Club, responsible for projects and innovation within the promotion team, and president of the Association of Student Engineers and Agricultural Techniques Engineers (Amicale des Élèves Ingénieurs et Ingénieurs des Techniques Agricoles). He is also head of the YASSA association (Youth Alliance for Sustainable Solution for Africa), which brings together young people from different backgrounds, with the aim of supporting and setting up sustainable and ecological projects in Africa. Under his leadership, several projects have been launched, including AGROFARM, which focuses on agro-ecology, and the Gala des Ingénieurs des Techniques Agricoles (GITA).
Aside from his professional and community commitments, Yann Cédric is passionate about music, projects, and travel, as well as enjoying swimming.
