Strengthening the Menghai Federation

In 2015 Peter Brouwers and Carl Jansen have accomplished the mission to establish a federation in Menghai. Agriterra promised them to support them with an actionplan, as soon as all the coops were organised in 1 federation. Goal of the action plan 2016 is to strengthen the new federation of 11 cooperatives on shared items like financial management, business planning and information gathering by a market survey and a study tour to another federation. In Menghai the leaders of 11 different cooperatives participated, which focused on different products such as: tea, pigs, dairy cows, bamboo rat, rice, vegetables, potato and vegetables. Other participants were staff of the AEMS. The cooperatives from the former program were: Menghai Mangen Rice FPO, Menghai Tianjian Potato FPO, Menghai Shuihe Tea and Animal Husbandry FPO, Menghai Xiangle Vegetable and Fruit FPO Menghai Mannan Small-ear Pig FPO. The new cooperatives are: Menghai Sanmaimeiyan Planting and Animal Husbandry FPO (chicken and Pig), Menghai Qingchuang Agriculture FPO (bamboo rat), Menghai Mingjun Tea FPO and Menghai Nongyu Agriculture FPO.
