Marco Schouten

Since September 2021, Dr. Marco Schouten is proud to have taken up the role as CEO of Agriterra. “Making a real practical tangible difference is what makes me tick; and I am firmly convinced of the ability of the team of Agriterra to do exactly that in the field of agricultural co-operatives.” 

The career of Marco spans almost 30 years; over which he feels very fortunate to have had various roles in complex international organisations. This has given him a track record in business development, management and institutional fund raising and a thorough understanding of the international development sector, its actors, donors, and financing models.

By education, Marco is an business economist; and was awarded in 2011 his Ph.D. degree from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam on the topic of strategic management and public private partnerships.
