Internship experience about the cassava value chain in the Philippines

Four months long was my stay in the Philippines. In April, I started my travel and since August I am back home. It was an interesting time during which I learned much about various aspects of the Philippine culture, its people and surroundings and of course a lot more about the cassava sector of the country and the stakeholders involved in it. I also got more insights into doing research, having interviews and focus group discussions and in the end connecting the different information, I gathered, to a holistic picture.

From 6 to 15 October Agriterra welcomes a group of 9 young farmers from 8 different countries. They are coming to The Netherlands for a study tour visit. Goal of the program is to strengthen and develop personal leadership of the (to be) leaders within the agrifood system.

Annual report 2017

Professional cooperatives and farmer organisations are key for sustainable economic development. It leads to a stable and prosperous agri-sector and economy as a whole. Agriterra strengthens farmer ownership to stimulate strong and vibrant rural areas.
As an international specialist in cooperative development, we work according to a threetrack approach. We make cooperatives bankable and create real farmer-led businesses. We support in improving services to members and enhance farmer-government dialoque through lobby and advocacy.

From 6 to 15 October Agriterra welcomes a group of 9 young farmers from 8 different countries. They are coming to The Netherlands for a study tour visit. Goal of the program is to strengthen and develop personal leadership of the (to be) leaders within the agrifood system.

The coming two weeks we will introduce the participants of the studytour, starting with Alice Abigitije (27), Aung Kyaw Moe (29) and Crescent Mugisha (28). 

Philippine Study Tour Visit

In this week, from 8 to 15 September, Agriterra welcomes a group of 14 guests from the Philippines to The Netherlands for a study tour visit. They are representatives from two cooperative organisations Agriterra supports in the Philippines (SIDC and FPSDC) and from Landbank (a government bank that promotes countryside development).

Agriterra and Rabo Partnerships join forces to support agricultural (financial) cooperatives in emerging markets

With the collaboration, Rabo Partnerships and Agriterra provide a more comprehensive set of products and services for the development of modern, market-oriented agricultural cooperatives in emerging markets and to cooperative financial institutions with a focus on agri finance. It is expected that the collaboration will lead to increased deployment of Agripool experts: employees of Rabobank who use their knowledge and expertise for international projects of Agriterra in developing and emerging markets.
